Some Tidbits About Me

I am native to California and have always loved the outdoors. It’s always been a dream of mine to hike long distance, especially the John Muir Trail (JMT) in its entirety: Yosemite Valley to Mt. Whitney. This blog will serve as my way of journaling for the next few months leading up to my trek of the JMT for my 34th birthday. I now live in Denver, Colorado surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains with my partner Alex and our adventure dog Andy (Austrailian Cattle Dog). My other passions include marathon running, knitting, reading, and drinking craft beer with friends. Cheers!

  1. Hi! Thanks for the Glen Camp review! Hopefully headed out there next week!

I saw that you had Hiking the Coastal Trail in your pile of books photo! Have you hiked any of it and camped out? I’ve done a tiny bit but just for short day hikes in Marin. Would love to hear about how you set up camp if you did end up going out there!

    • Hey Alex! Glad you found it helpful. I absolutely love that area for backpacking. Regarding your question on the Coastal Trails; I’ve only done the Point Reyes stuff. I had intended to do more of course but ended up going to other areas. If you’re looking for something fantastic I suggest the Benson Peeler Lake Loop in the Eastern Sierras. It’s in the Backpacking California book. It’s not an easy trip but the views are spectacular! Cheers!
